What happened?

What happened to music like this? I remember this song, brings back so many forgotten memories. I love how back in the 90's, all the music videos looked like they just rolled out of bed. Now, everyone has a fucking make-up artist, perfect hair, auto tuned voice. Fuck your new age, I'll take my 90's.

  4. Now people actually use products to make them look like they just rolled out of bed. What is this world coming to? Even some (read most) of the new rock is letting me down. Today's music has really changed, but is it for the better? Nah.

  6. Really, if you wanna nostalgia, for the love of all that is good, don't do it over the 90's when it comes to music!

  11. I always feel bad for people calling Darius Rucker "hootie".

  12. There was plenty of crap in the 90s too... Lest we forget the NSYNC and backstreet boys. Crap music simply transcends through the ages...

  13. Born in the '90, but grown up in the '00. Nevertheless I agree with you that 'nowdays' music plain sucks. I now listen to lots of music from '70 to '90. After the digitalization of music starting in the '90 everything just went downwards. You can't program groove, funk, rock; you can't program the human expression called music. If you do, well.. we all know the result.

  16. Just wait, this whole decade was all about people repeating random 80s shit, 90s are comin back this decade.

  17. Fucking seriously. There's no more realness to music anymore. No literary emotion. The finesse is gone, the craft dwindles on the last thread of the musical spindle

  22. The 90s were just as unique as the 80s. I think history will agree with me.

  23. I'm surprised there is anybody else out there who remembers Hootie and the Blow fish.

  24. There's always going to be good and bad out there. Nostalgia has a big impact on how we perceive things, and there are always exceptions.

Think about the Kings of Leon. Amazing group, amazing voice, great image, great lyrics and song - Really standup act. I'm glad music moves on. Electronic music has become of great influence in all genres of music this decade - Might be good for some, bad for others. But I like how things are going ;)

    Following - Nice blog.

  26. really do not miss this particular act, to be honest. but i remember when garth brooks got mad at some award ceremony because they gave the award to him and not hootie. he thought it was an outrage. lol. followed.

  27. Good music, however, the 90s isn't the best era to dwell upon. And I agree, music isn't about talent anymore. They're just dressed-up performers.

  28. Artists realized that they didn't have to work hard to make good music, shitty music sells just fine and is a lot easier to make.
